Laura Brandt
Hailed as a “tour-de-force” and a “powerhouse soprano” Laura Brandt has performed across North America and Europe and now resides in Calgary. Recent credits include Lily (The Secret Garden) with Theatre Calgary and Rosalinda (The Bat) with Cowtown Opera. Laura was a member of the Emerging Artist Development Program with Calgary Opera for two seasons. Laura has performed as a soloist with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, The Festival Chorus, Spiritus Chamber Choir, The Mountain View Chamber Festival, The Calgary Civic Symphony, Avalon Waterways, The Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, Opera on the Avalon and Cowtown Opera. Laura has a Bachelor of Music from Mount Allison University and a Master of Music in vocal performance from the New England Conservatory. www.laurabrandt.ca
Our concert will be inspired by settings of Emily Dickinson poetry. We will be doing selections from Twelve poems of Emily Dickinson by Aaron Copeland, and the entire set "The Faces of Love" which is Emily Dickinson poems set by Jake Heggie. Also some selections from Schumann Kerner songs Op 35 on a "Nature" theme.

Evan Mounce
Pianist Evan Mounce is a répétiteur with Calgary Opera, accompanist for both the Calgary Philharmonic Chorus and the Cantaré Children’s Choir, and past Resident Music Director for Cowtown Opera. As a vocal coach Evan worked closely with k.d. lang, preparing her for her 25th anniversary tour of Ingénue across Canada. Evan has trained at Opera on the Avalon, St. Andrew’s by the Sea Opera Workshop, the Vancouver International Song Institute, the Centre for Opera Studies in Italy, Opera NUOVA and the Mountainview International Festival of Song and Chamber Music. Evan holds a MMus from the University of Toronto in saxophone performance and currently studies with Kathleen van Mourik. His favourite artistic collaboration is with his wife, soprano Laura Brandt.
